What are subject pronouns
We have subject pronouns in Spanish just
as in English.
 Subject pronouns represent people
(usually) that ‘do’ the action in a sentence.
 Sometimes they can take the place of
persons names.
 Some subject pronouns that you are
already familiar with are “Tú, Ud., Uds., &
él & ella”


The verb ‘SER’
 ‘Ser’
means “to be” in English.
 It’s translation in Spanish is equivalent to
“am, is & are” in English when conjugated.
 Conjugate = to change to agree with the
subject.
 There are two verbs for “to be” in
Spanish. ‘Ser’ tells who the subject is,
where he/she is from and is used when
describing someone.
