1 Introduction
1.1
Purpose
This document outlines proven practices for importing the Composite sample
data within Composite Studio.
1.2
Applicability
The techniques and product behaviours outlined in this document apply to
Composite Software 3.1.1.

This import method and its required settings may change in future releases.

2 Importing the Data Source
The http://www.xmethods.net/sd/2001/CurrencyExchangeService.wsdl service
used in this example calculates the exchange rate between any two currencies.
It takes in country1 and country2, and returns the exchange rate between
currencies (Returns value of 1 unit of country1's currency converted into
country2's unit currency).
Within Composite Studio, create a new data source by right mouse clicking on
the Sources folder.
Within the Add Physical Data Source screen. Select the WSDL data source driver
and click Next.

Fill out the necessary information. For this example, fill in the following
information and click Next.

Click the Select All button, then Finish.
The Composite Studio should now display the imported Currency Exchange
Service under Shared\Sources.

3 Transforming the WSDL into a Usable Function
Create a new transformation by right mouse clicking on the Source folder.
Within the XML to Tabular Transformation screen, select the XML to multi table
transformation, and click Next.

Select the getRate Service and click Finish.
The getRateResponse should now be visible under the Shared folder.

4 Preparing the SOAP envelope via a Parameterized Query
Create a new Parameterized Query by right mouse clicking the sources Folder.

Give the parameterized query a name and click OK.
Select the getRateResponse transformation and drag it into the right hand pane.

The completion of the drag and drop should display the following screen.

Map the input parameters to a Query Parameters by: Expanding the folder
structure, clicking on the input parameter, switching the Value from Null to
Query Parameter, and typing in a name. Repeat these steps for the other input
parameter. The resultant screen should look something like this.

Once OK is pressed. The parameterized query should not be visible under
Shared\sources. Save the changes via a File\Save.
5 Publishing to the Composite Data Services
Publish the object by right mouse clicking on the getRateParameterized object
and selecting Publish.

Select or Create the appropriate Composite Data Service Database, Catalog and
Schema and click OK.
The Parameterized query can now be utilized within Framework Manager via the
Composite ODBC driver.
