IBM Statement Urging Passage of Trade Promotion Authority
IBM Statement Urging Passage of Trade Promotion Authority
Washington, D.C. (June 18, 2015) – IBM today issued the following statement urging
the United States House of Representatives to pass Trade Promotion Authority:
“Trade plays a critical role in America’s digital economy. Passage of Trade Promotion
Authority is an essential step toward approving the Trans-Pacific Partnership – a muchneeded international trade agreement that will align U.S trade policy with the realities
and opportunities of the 21st Century's data-driven global economy.
IBM urges the U.S. House of Representatives to resolve their differences and pass
Trade Promotion Authority so our country can better innovate and drive economic
growth.”
- Christopher A. Padilla, Vice President, IBM Government and Regulatory Affairs
