Intro to Faculty Inquiry- Rose Asera
This is a follow-up to the overview at our first meeting with examples of inquiry projects from Chabot
College, Pasadena City College, and College of the Desert.
Rose Asera is currently the Director of Pathway Connections and is responsible for outreach and
engaging the wider community of interest. From 2004-2009 she directed the Carnegie project on
Strengthening Pre-collegiate Education in Community Colleges (SPECC), a multi-site action-research
project that focused on teaching and learning in pre-collegiate mathematics and English language arts
courses at 11 California community colleges.
Intro to Inquiry into Math and ESL – Jeanne Gross, Professor, ESL
Jeanne and her group will share their inquiry questions and the process they are following to gather
information.
Group discussion regarding the inquiry process
There will be a facilitated discussion to help others with their inquiry projects.
