Congratulations to the Marching Band and the Westwood J-ROTC Honor Guard for an
outstanding performance Friday night! Great job students! Also, thank you parent volunteers
for making the evening run so smoothly! !
Marching Band Rehearsals this week:!
• Monday, September 21 from 6:15 - 7:45 AM !
• Tuesday, September 22 from 6:15 - 7:45 AM!
• Tuesday, September 22 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM!
• Thursday, September 24 from 6:15 - 7:45 AM!
• Thursday, September 24 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM, Percussion sectional!
• Thursday, September 24 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Guard sectional!
• Friday, September 24 from 6:15 - 7:45 AM!
BLT students, please make sure that the marching band uniforms and hat boxes are put away
first thing Monday morning. Thank you! !
Congrats students with Perfect Marching Band Attendance! This takes determination and
pride! Awards are posted in the Band Hall, and students with perfect attendance will be treated
to dinner and desert Tuesday night at 5 PM before our Tuesday night rehearsal! !
Marching Band Students, please wear white shirts to Tuesday night’s rehearsal. Guard will be
in all black. Thank you!!
Band Leadership Team will meet this Wednesday from 3:15-4:15 PM!!
Concession Booth - Volunteers are needed this Wednesday and Friday at 4:30 PM for the
Freshman and Varsity games.!
The Marching Band is performing this Friday, Sept. 25 for the Homecoming Parade and the
game vs. Desert Mountain. See attached for a detailed itinerary.!
Pit, Chaperone, Food and Uniform Crews are needed this week for the Homecoming Game
on Friday and the AzPAS Fall Festival on Saturday.!
The Marching Band Percussion Ensemble is performing this Saturday at the AZ Percussive
Arts Society Fall Festival at Cesar Chavez HS. Call time at WHS is 7:00 AM. See attached for
a detailed itinerary. For Band and Guard students who want to attend the Festival to cheer for
our team, a bus sign up sheet will be posted on Wednesday afternoon. Space is limited. !
Thank you parent volunteers who helped with dress pinning and hemming last Tuesday! !
Remind: The WHS Band uses the Remind program to communicate to Band parents and
students. This is especially useful for updates on performance days when we have specific
information to disseminate quickly! To sign up via text, text @bb5be to (602) 734-5658. !
Band Fees and Individual Student Accounts: All ISA’s have been updated as of Aug. 30.
Please see that these fees are paid to the WHS bookstore as soon as possible.!
ECA Donation: The Course Fees only covers approximately a third of our operating expenses.
In order to meet the difference, we are requesting that each Band student contribute $200
towards the Band ECA. Students may also solicit individuals to donate. Make sure to specify the
School Name as “Westwood High School” and the Activity as “Band.” www.mpsaz.org/eca !
Concert Attire Payments: Turn in dress payments ($80) to the WHS Bookstore. All tuxedo
payments should be paid directly to La Sueur’s. 156 S. Mesa Dr. #102, Mesa, AZ 85210 !
