Science at the heart of medicine Richard B. Lipton, M.D. Vice Chair and Professor, Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology, Einstein Director, Montefiore Headache Center Director, Einstein Aging Study, Einstein Edwin S. Lowe Chair in Neurology, Einstein Richard B. Lipton, M.D., is professor and vice chair of neurology and professor of epidemiology & population health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is also director of the Montefiore Headache Center and principal investigator of the Einstein Aging Study, a National Institute on Aging program project now in its 30th year. Dr. Lipton’s interests include headache epidemiology and clinical trials; outcomes research; and cognitive aging and dementia. Dr. Lipton is a three-time recipient of the H. G. Wolff Research Award for excellence in research from the American Headache Society. Additionally, he and colleagues are the recipients of the Medical Book Award from the British Medical Association. Dr. Lipton has published eight books and over 600 original articles and reviews. He also is an associate editor of Cephalalgia and on the editorial boards of several journals, including Neurology.
