Completion and approval for clinical participation of the Minnesota Department of Humans Services Licensing Division Background Study prior to entering FIRE courses. Completion and approval for clinical participation of a National Background Study through Verified Credentials cost $50 2. Students must have an "eligible" status through the State Motor Vehicle Records Check system. 3. Current CPR certification. CPR for Health Care Providers (American Heart Association) prior to entering FIRE courses. to the end of the first week of EMTB1100. 4. All required courses for the program must be completed with a grade of C or better. 5. Completion of the College Health Screening & Immunization form prior to entering FIRE courses enrollment in EMTP1130. 6. All students must have structural firefighting personal protective equipment, which consists of a helmet, protective hood, coat, pants, gloves, and boots. FYEC Waiver Language The committee reviewed and approved the following updates to read as follows: A student who is in good academic standing, and has 24+ college transfer credits when applying to NCTC (not including CHS or OCHS) or has completed 24+ credits in a NCTC program of study other than the Associate in Arts program (not including CHS or OCHS), may request a waiver from waive FYEC 1110 Pathways to Success. Students who are in good academic standing and have completed a similar course at another accredited college or university may request a course substitution. Adobe PDF Converter The committee discussed purchasing the Adobe PDF editor for faculty support personnel (Mary Cox and Rita Lealos) to be able to convert common course outlines in PDF format and save as a word document when faculty request a copy of specific syllabus. Carey Castle will discuss the software purchase with Administrative Council and Karl Ohrn will discuss these duties with Mary and Rita. After the meeting, Karleen Delorme prepared and distributed a handout specifying the steps to convert PDF to word documents without having to purchase the software (see below). 2014-15 Meeting Schedule Day Date Wednesday April 8 Tuesday May 5 Time 9–12 pm 1-4 pm Location 149 / 601 EGF 290 Common Course Outline -- PDF to word document 1. www.northlandcollege.edu -- click on Employees 2. Scroll down the Employees page -- Academics column – click on Common Course Outlines 3. Select appropriate Semester Select appropriate Subject Click Find Course Outlines button 4. click the PDF icon 5. for the appropriate course click Save dropdown arrow -- SAVE AS 6. select appropriate folder on your hard drive to save to (Documents Library) – click SAVE 7. Go to that folder (Documents Library) where you saved the PDF Right click on PDF – click Open with – click Word 8. Word will now convert your PDF to and editable Word document – click OK 9. Click Enable Editing button 10. click OK again 11. Click File – Save As – word document Rename the document to appropriate course – example ACCT1124 12. Edit word document using appropriate strike through and highlighting to submit to AASC.
