eLearning: Bb Learn 9.1
Discussion:
 Faculty reported a good transition between CE and 9.1
 Some think that the old discussion board was better
 The issue of the anonymous discussion board post, and what it takes to work around
 Naming convention of course mail vs. messages, some confusion for students
 Can faculty receive email notifications for new assignments? Will look into it
 Committee wants ELO to be required for students; there are some challenges in PN, but we will
work to move forward
ITEM 2.
Bb Student Course Access
Discussion:
 Instead of 30 days, Bb will be modified via PN so students may only access it 10 days after end of
term, except in cases of grade appeals or incompletes, pending Dean’s Council approval
ITEM 3.
Bb Collaborate and Voice Authoring
Discussion:
 eLearning is offering a demo on Professional Development Day
 Concern about faculty requiring a synchronous component
 Not purchasing webcams for faculty
ITEM 4.
Bb Mobile
Discussion:
 Is extremely limited; cannot build content or take tests/quizzes/exams
 Will enable mobile on our test server and interested faculty can beta test the functions
ITEM 5.
Retaining and Promoting Student Success
Discussion:
 Stephanie is presenting Improving Retention and Student Success in Online Classes on
Professional Development Day during both time slots, and is available for consulting with faculty
ITEM 6.
Instructional Technology
Discussion:
 Workshop schedule is updated often
 Instructional technology page will be launched soon
 April updates faculty resources page often
ITEM 7.
Florida Virtual Campus
Discussion:
 State legislature is investigating idea of having one statewide virtual college
 Representatives from each college/university is on steering committee
ITEM 8.
Committee Recommendations
Discussion:
 Unless there is new business to discuss, committee will reconvene in January
