Data Warehousing
As one of the largest food manufacturers in the world, UK-based United
Biscuits (UB), maker of well-recognised brands such as McVitie’s, Jacob’s,
McCoy’s, and Hula Hoops, invested in core IT systems to accumulate valuable
business data to make accurate and reliable business decisions. UB had
implemented SAP Business Warehouse (BW) as an enterprise-wide data
warehouse to integrate the widespread data across the company’s
operations.
However, UB found the data was not being utilised by a large enough
business-user base, and wished to expand the implementation across the
company. UB turned to TCS to provide a solution to extend the scope of the
data warehouse system.

critical business decisions.
Therefore, UB wanted an IT partner who would
increase the utility of SAP BW for the business and
expand the scope of the data warehouse to work as a
one-stop-shop for business information needs. The
company needed a partner that would own the
application and expand its implementation
throughout the business. UB turned to TCS as its
strategic partner in this project.
