ART 2000 CAD- Computer Aided Design Mr. Salmin- [email protected] COURSE OUTLINE: A one-semester course open to juniors and seniors who have taken or are registered for Art 2790 (2090). This course introduces the students to the computer software program MAYA®. The program is used to create three dimensional structures and objects. Maya is the industry standard for computer animation and film FX but is also an incredible learning tool to teach students the methods and techniques that are used by architects, mechanical engineers, video game designers, film & video software program to emphasize projects in three-dimensional design, including perspective drawing, elevations, and space planning, touching upon the fields of Architecture, Computer and Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Interior and Environmental and Stage Design. The course fulfills the 1/2 unit computer requirement for graduation. CLASS RULES: 1. Be in class on time. 2. Cell phones are to be off and away. 3. Refrain from talking while the teacher or a classmate is speaking. 4. Any food or drinks should be put away before entering the computer lab. 5. No cursing or teasing/ Do not use vulgar or offensive language. COMPUTER LAB RULES: Students are expected to maintain the computer lab in a clean and professional manner. Any student that does not follow the computer lab rules will lose the privilege to use the computer lab and be held accountable for their actions. 1. Students may not be in the computer lab without permission. 2. Only current students in the following classes are allowed to use the computers, unless permission is granted: -Advanced Digital Design -CAD -Computer Graphics -Digital Photography -Web Design 3. Any food or drinks should be put away before entering the computer lab. 4. Notify a teacher of any broken equipment. (Computers, Pen Tablets, Keyboards, Software or Mice) 5. Do not damage or vandalize any computer equipment.
