Call to Order – Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Amelia Tidwell
Welcome & Meeting Minute Review –
A. Welcome to the newest members of the board
 April Neu - Vice President of Programs
 Tracie Poulsen – Spirit Wear Chair
 Julie Blake – will be managing the AR store
B. No previous meeting minutes discussed.
President’s report- Amelia Tidwell & Amy Craycraft
A. The PTO budget was presented by Amelia Tidwell
 Motion to approve: Chelsea Willson
 Seconded: Jennifer Barstow.
B. Yearbook
 A yearbook cover contest will be conducted again this year. More details to
come.
 We are also proposing a yearbook club this year as well.
C. Programs
 Looking for individuals who are interested in volunteering in the running
club this year. Last year was a huge success, and it would be nice to
continue with the club this year as well.
 Also, we are looking for an artistically savvy individual to run the art club. If
anyone is interested please see Amelia Tidwell for more information. This is
an excellent opportunity for the children to cultivate their love of art.
 Dettra Bailey has kindly volunteered to do the scholarship essay grading. If
anyone is interested in assisting in the grading process, that would greatly
appreciated.
D. 501 (c)(3) has been completed for tax-exemption.
E. Insurance was purchased for $288.
F. Fun Night
 Fun day will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Mark your calendars.
 Harvest fun night will be on Friday, November 13, 2015. 5 th grade time
slot will be 5:30-7pm, and 6th grade will meet from 7:30-9pm.
 Spring fun night will be Friday, April 8, 2016. 5 th grade will meet at 5:307pm and 6th grade from 7:30-9 pm.
 Outdoor Education is back during the school year!!!! The event will be
held in May 2016 at Lutheran Memorial Camp. More details to come.
 The PTO board is currently considering a proposal for a winter themed
fun night with dates and times to be determined in the near future.
 Volunteers are needed for these events. Remember, without volunteers,
fun night are not possible. Therefore, any assistance that can provided is

always welcomed. Please remember that a district volunteer form will
need to be completed when volunteering. These forms can be found on
the Harmon Middle School website or by clicking the link below.
PTO Volunteer Form
G. Spirit Wear – Tracie Poulsen will be the chair. A contest will be conducted
amongst the students for the new spirit wear shirts. More details to come.
H. Also, box tops and Giant Eagle Apples for Students participants are needed.
With the box tops, please watch for expiration dates as they cannot be used
once expired. Your participation in these fundraising activities help our PTO to
be able to give back to the students of Harmon Middle School.
Principal’s Report – Lea Ann Yoakum
A. Renaissance Club/ P.B.I.S.
 The success of the Renaissance Club continues for this school year.
There’s been excellent student involvement, and amazing leadership
skills developed! The focus is to recognize students for the positives by
conducting:
1. Student of the month
2. Staff Choice Awards
3. Birthday recognition
4. A.C.E.S
5. Thank you Thursdays
B. Harmon R.O.A.R- there’s currently a PAWS LAWS tee shirt proposal under
review.
Treasurer’s Report – Shelia Amyn
A. Our account balance is $6,059.10
Vice President of Fundraising – Chelsea Willson
A. We are asking for volunteers to help with delivery of purchases from the fall
fundraiser.
B. We will be utilizing Signup Genius for volunteer scheduling.
C. We are exploring the possibility of having a bake sell as a fundraiser.
