The following plan has been approved by the Board of Education for the 2015-16 school year.

use that day as a make-up day, regardless of whether the district has reached the fiveday limit of excusable days.
If the district takes any calamity days before March 28, 2016, we will use that day as a makeup day.
Days 3-5 will be identifies as “blizzard bag” days. Teachers will provide these work-at-home
lessons for students to complete when not in class
.Days 6-10: Students are excused from attendance.
Did you remember to pay your School Fees? Payments were due
November 13. If you already paid, thank you.

CLASSROOM HAPPENINGS
Thanks for Giving. Our student government decided to have the Twelve Days of Giving in
December. The students had special dress up days for dollar donations to help others in need in
our community. We were able to contribute $
To the Violet Township Fire Department Holiday Giving Program.
Pickerington Central Chorale visited us on December 16. It was great for the students to join in
some holiday tunes.
Columbus Children’s Theatre performed for the school Riki Tikki Tavi and provided classroom
sessions. Thank you to the PTO for providing funding for this event.
Mr. Baiocco, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Obert’s 2nd grade classes invited two families in to teach
students about Japanese and Canadian culture. Presentations included food, language, school
norms, games and much, much more about each culture. We then created a Venn Diagram to
compare and contrast the two cultures. We would like to thank the Van Fleet Family and
Widener Family for volunteering their time and resources to provide our kids with an
AWESOME experience!

Event, Fall Fundraiser, Super Sycamore Discount Cards, Trunk or Treat, Book Fair, Holiday
Shoppe, Family Fun Nights, Spirit Wear, Staff Potluck, Box Tops 4 Education, Columbus
Children’s Theatre, or supplied donuts and coffee to SCE family veterans who attended the
students’ Veterans Day performance … and more exciting events to come!!! THANK YOU!
Help SCE while you finish
your holiday shopping!

still help raise money for our students while school is out – all through activities you’re probably
